About ConsultMentor

Voice-based consultation practice for GP registrars, built by practising GP trainers. Practise anytime, anywhere, with immediate structured feedback on every consultation.

Our Story

Traditional registrar role‑play is valuable but artificial — and there’s never enough of it. We founded ConsultMentor to give registrars a more authentic way to practise between sessions: lifelike spoken consultations with instant, structured feedback, available whenever they are.

Our Vision

We’re bringing technological innovation into GP education with interactive, speech‑based consultations that go beyond static text chats. Trainees speak, listen and decide — then receive objective, consistent feedback in seconds. It’s designed to complement VTS teaching and trainer feedback, not replace them.

Why We Built This

As GP trainers, we kept seeing the same three problems in registrar training: inconsistent feedback, limited tutor availability, and the travel and time burden of face‑to‑face sessions. We built ConsultMentor to solve them — and we use it with our own registrars.

What Makes Us Different

Plenty of platforms now offer AI patients and case feedback. Here is what you won’t find elsewhere:

Feedback that learns your patterns

Anyone can mark a single case. ConsultMentor looks across your consultations — identifying recurring strengths and weaknesses, charting your progress, recommending the cases that will help you most, and generating a supervisor‑ready progress report. Isolated marks become a guided learning plan. No other platform does this.

Every case vetted by practising trainers

Each case in the library has been individually tested, refined and approved by us — practising GP trainers — against the specific consultation skills it’s designed to assess. And because the cases are built to be comparable, your cross‑case analysis means something.

Built around mastery, not one attempt

Every case includes multiple full attempts, so you can act on your feedback, repeat the consultation and see your grades improve. That practice loop is where skills actually change.

Whole consultations, not credits

No tokens, no per‑minute credits, no metering. Your course includes complete consultations from start to finish — every case, every attempt — so you can practise freely without watching a counter.

A full consultation on your phone

The complete experience — spoken consultation, analysis and feedback — works on your phone, tablet or desktop. Practise properly in a spare twenty minutes, wherever your training day allows.

Our Values

  • Educational excellence – We believe in providing the highest quality learning experiences based on evidence-based educational principles.
  • Innovation with purpose – We use technology not for its own sake, but to solve real educational challenges in medical training.
  • Learner-centred approach – Everything we build starts with the needs of GP registrars and the skills they need to develop.
  • Continuous improvement – We’re committed to constantly refining our platform based on user feedback and educational outcomes.
